Have a Hell Bunny Halloween!!

So, It's nearly our favourite time of the year, Halloween!! We love it so much, because it means an excuse to wear those spooky things we'd love to wear all year round, and we're all thinking about our costumes already!
If you're still wondering what to wear this Halloween, check out some of our new dresses!
This year, we've created two incredible new prints especially for the Halloween season, a spiderweb and skulls print in red, black, white and grey and a monster/horror print in green with red blood splatters.

True to Hell Bunny style, we created some 50's length dresses, for all the rockabilly and pin up ladies, so you can look demure and spooky in one fail swoop!

Freddy and Seth dress both have black contrast collars, halter-neck ties and waistbands, and look incredible with a black petticoat (we used our 26" one for the photos). You could even go for our monster green or red petticoat for even more impact!

Of course, we also made some shorter dresses for the rock chicks amongst you. We had a play with them at our photoshoot and they look great pared with knee high socks fishnets, stompy boots and a big dose of attitude! Hot stuff!
Both Reaper dress and Kirsty dress have adjustable spaghetti straps and contrast collar and waistbands.

All you need now is some fake blood and you're good to go for this halloween!! So, have fun, don't eat too much candy, and don't forget to post some pics on our facebook page!

And to top off you outfit, check out the Zombie Cardigan!!

Autumn/Winter is coming....!

Has anyone else been watching Game of Thrones as avidly as us? We're a little hooked...!  Whenever I
think of the upcoming season...The Stark's 'Winter is coming' prophecy springs to mind!!
Well, I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but here in the UK, we've not had the greatest summer on record!!! So we're quite looking forward to getting into Autumn because it means we can finally unveil the new collection..! Yay!
Here at Hell Bunny HQ, we design around a year in advance of a season, so we've been excitedly sitting on the new collection waiting to be able to show it off to all our fans! After a few sneak peeks from our photoshoot to whet your appetites earlier on, we can now finally reveal some of the new styles! There are plenty more to be found on our facebook page, and of course, this is just the beginning! Loads more styles will be revealed as they make their way to our stockists!

Talk of the town-Tartan!

First up, we have a few styles in tartan (more to be found on our facebook page in the A/W 21012 album). Starting out with some rockier styles such as the aptly named 'Rock dress' below, coming in red, blue and green and white tartans:

Alexander dress

We just love Lolita and tartan combo, and came up with the Alexander dress for our lolita lovers! with white contrast lace trim and lacing detail, it's really cute and looks great with and without a petticoat! This style also comes in green and blue ) .

Bop the night away!

Just perfect for a rock and roll themed dance, get swinging to some 50's tunes in the bebop dress with black and white musical notes print! Again, gorgeous with and without a petticoat! We recommend a 26" one for this style! Awesome for twirling in!!

We did a few more in this print, again, check out our facebook to see more styles! We love this lolita take on the musical notes print-

Hell Bunny Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Backstage sneek peeks!!

 Hell Bunny Photoshoot Autumn/Winter 2012-13

A couple of weeks ago, we shot the new Autumn/Winter range for Hell Bunny.
You may be thinking, wait, we didn't even get a summer yet, what are the crazy folk at Hell Bunny doing photographing a winter range..!? Well, here at Hell Bunny, we work in advance and design collections up to a year ahead of them hitting the shops for you to buy. We usually have 2 photoshoots per year, each bringing a new look to the Hell Bunny collection.
Our photos go worldwide, so it's really important that we nail each shot. Initially, they go out to all of our stockists across the globe. We produce a (trade only) biannual catalogue for our stockists to browse our new styles.
As well as the catalogue, the pictures also appear on the websites of many of our stockists, on our own wholesale website, and eventually will be posted on our much loved and visited facebook page.
The pictures go up on the facebook page as soon as they are in the shops, (or sometimes a little earlier if you're very lucky) !!
Our photoshoots have grown over the past few years, from a small team of a photographer, Hell Bunny staff and models, to the giant team of professionals we have behind us today.
This time around, we had a fantastic group behind the photoshoot. Our favourite photographer Phillip Waterman was ready to capture the shots, with his trusty digi assistant Ian Kirby.
Stylist Deborah Latouche was on hand to make sure that every detail of the outfits was shown off to its best. You can see her at work in the image below alongside hair stylist Jason Crozier who made sure the models hair was styled to perfection. And,  last but certainly not least tanya chianale provided some excellent make up for the models.

We always have a lot of fun whilst shooting here at Hell Bunny, as you can see from the backstage photos! It's a long and tough few days for all involved, but the results are always fantastic.

The team, hard at work, to make sure the models look great on camera (not that they need much help in that field ;-)! )

Final adjustments to one of our winter coats.

Last bit of hair and styling before camera!

The Peurbakkentocht

So here's a question... How many Hell Bunny dresses can you fit on one boat?

We were so excited when a picture of 'The Peurbakkentocht' popped up on our facebook page recently. And I'm sure you can see why from the photo below!!  So, we were curious as to what this was all about and got in touch with one of our stockists Dominia from The Netherlands to find out more about the reasons behind this boat full of ladies decked out in our dresses!

So the reason that so many fabulous looking ladies are donning Hell Bunny dresses and floating down the river? It turns out that it's a festival called  'The Lakenfeesten'. The Peurbakkentocht kicks off this four day festival, where colourful decorated boats float down the Leiden canal. Dominia have their own boat each year, which this time happened to be decorated with gorgeous ladies dresses in Hell Bunny dresses...We approve!!

And the history behind all of this? Well, originally, centuries ago, all herbs, spices and cotton were sold by boat through town and all of the entrepreneurs made as much noise as they could to let the people know what they where selling from their boats. This particular boat was called 'Peurbak' in dutch.

Nowadays, companies, local shops and sports clubs participate to this event to promote their business. And prizes are given to the most original and creative boats. As well as the local businesses, some of the local people from Leiden participate as well and dress up.

This was our 4th time that Dominia have participated and their goal was to let people in town know what they are selling at that time. They wanted to show the 'Leidenaren's' that they sold colourful dresses and not just black and gothic garments, and their theme was 'Rock and Roll' A perfect excuse to show off our dresses !!

Domina use the afternoon to do hair, make-up and dress up the lovely ladies on the boat. After that it's pizza and fruit time, and at around 6pm the party starts!!  The boat then floats through the centre of the city and is watched by thousands of residents and tourists.

And a little history about Dominia from the owner Kim-

At first I  graduated as a carpenter, but in that period it was hard to find a job, since the furniture industry had trouble. My family told me I should open an alternative shop, since I was always busy with costumes and such. So i took the plunge and here I am! My shop opened on August 4 2004. Almost 8 years ago!
The name is actually a puzzle. I have a fascination for bugs and butterflies. I collected taxidermy bugs and butterflies. So in order for my name I used the name of a Moth that lives during the night.
The 'Neochera Dominia'. I also used this as my logo, but with a little skull hidden in it.
